Læsefællesskab: Linea Maja Ernsts ‘Kun til navlen’

Vores venner former os, vi former dem. Samtidig er venskabet en foranderlig størrelse, der ændrer sig over tid. Biblioteket Frederiksberg inviterer til et fælleskram i form af et læsefællesskab, når vi læser Linea Maja Ernsts vidunderlige venneroman ‘Kun til navlen’. Her er en gruppe venner i begyndelsen af trediverne samlet i et sommerhus ved en skovsø, hvor de skændes, mindes, flirter, poserer, soler sig i hinandens selskab og roder op i ukurante følelser. Over tre mødegange diskuterer vi romanen og dens temaer og taler om venskabet, og de mange måder sådan en type kærlighed kan se ud på.

Læseklubben mødes 27/8, 10/9 og 24/9.

A Literary Hug: Join Our Reading Circle on Friendship
- for you who wants to meet new people and discover Danish literature/culture.

They’re there when you twist your ankle, when the month is running long, when you need someone to walk you home, when your heart is broken - or when you just need a little lovin’ care.
All you have to do is call, and they’ll come running; your friends.

This August, Frederiksberg Public Library invites you to celebrate friendship in all its forms with a cozy reading circle. Together, we’ll read Waist Deep by Linea Maja Ernst - a tender, sharp, and playful novel about a group of friends in their thirties spending a summer weekend by a forest lake. They argue, reminisce, flirt, pose, bask in each other’s company, and stir up old, messy feelings.

In a time when loneliness is growing and many adults lack close confidants, maybe it’s time we gave friendship the spotlight it deserves. Could this be the kind of love where heart doesn’t have to pair with hurt? Friendship may not be romantic or erotic by definition- but who says it can’t be just as powerful? In Ernst’s novel, friendship is fluid, intimate, and full of possibility - just like identity, gender, and love itself.

My Beloved Friend – On the evolving, ever-shifting nature of friendship through life’s changes. Followed by a cozy long-table dinner.

Participation is free, but you need to reserve a spot.
